October 6, 2012

Phoenix Fashion Week at Talking Stick is in full swing ! Today, we’re sharing photos from every show and thoughts from some local Phoenix Fashion Bloggers on their favorite collections from day 1 !

1. Kent Denim, Established Designer, Menswear from Los Angeles, CA.

Hannah Hayes from chicheroine.com says, “My favorite was Kent Denim, the opening line. He obviously has an all-encompassing eye for timeless yet fashion-forward menswear, and the models were delightful. I enjoyed the bad-ass styling and the energy catapulting off the runway.”

2. Mabella Chic, Established Designer, Womens Ready to Wear, Phoenix, AZ

This is one of my favorite collections because I tend to gravitate towards clothes I feel are the most wearable. These are lovely, stretchable knits that are comfortable and come in lots of different styles; I like the color range and the versatility of this line !

6. Shawl Dawls, Emerging Designer, Womens shawls

The very fashionable Dustin Hoyman says this line is one of his favorites “because it’s versatile and easy to wear with good looking details. The closing piece was awesome.”

7. Samantha Patterson, Emerging Designer, Womens “Modest Wear”, Flagstaff, AZ

Samantha Patterson’s modest wear was a favorite pick for fashion bloggers Dustin Hoyman (IndieStitch.com ) and Ashley Murphy ( GoldenDivine.com). Ashley said, “I really love her feminine designs and play on textures; it’s a great line for women of all ages.”

Dustin said, “I like the concept, although some of the fits may have been a little too modest, especially on those models, but the patterns and little details, like a pair of contrasting dark turquoise buttons on a cuff, were nice.”

Move aside, Cathy Horyn. Ha !

8. Cafe Bleu, Established Designer, Menswear, Los Angeles, CA

Cafe Bleu was a favorite of Ms. Angela Palmer of ForwardFashionDiary.com. She called this collection the best of the menswear lines, saying, “The clothes were styled well and there were fabulous details like contrasting/patterned cuffs and perfectly positioned elbow patches.”

And just in case you missed it, it was a fan favorite too as evidenced in this photo I posted yesterday !

9. Mariska, Established Designer, Womens Ready to Wear, Los Angeles, CA

Mariska is always a crowd favorite; she’s a pro and I think everyone looks forward to her collections each year. Angela Palmer agrees and added, “Mariska had amazing jackets. The small details were what counted with well-positioned buttons, pops of color, and mix and matches of different fabric types.”
