Kicking off a 13-city tour, couture designer Furne One wowed the crowd again with the debut of his latest collection in Scottsdale on Friday night. Now that I’ve seen this designer’s work on the runway a few times, it’s fitting to say this isn’t so much a fashion show, as a fashion spectacle.
It’s fantasy fashion, and while he’s been gaining international attention as a designer to the stars (Katy Perry, Heidi Klum, Jennifer Lopez), he’s built an appreciative following here in town, with his shows at the W Hotel and as the final designer on the runway at Phoenix Fashion Week this year.
This show was a fundraiser for the Christopher & Dana Reeve foundation; it was held in a private hangar at the Scottsdale Air Center and emceed by Wilber Valderrma, best known for his role in “That 70′s Show.”
Following are some of my favorite photos from the show, highlighting the incredible couture details of the clothes. Included are shots taken by Scottsdale artist and photographer Stephen Moody who graciously agreed to accompany me to the show and let me publish some of his amazing photos here !
