This is my girlfriend Jodi. She loves Ted Baker. She got engaged at a Ted Baker store. I’m not making this up. It’s funny the things you learn about your friends in casual conversation; here’s how this one went.
(We’re at the Spring Fling event, Ted Baker in Scottsdale Thursday night. Jodi is trying on this uber fab suit.)
Me: Jodi, thanks so much for coming tonight; I’m so glad you’re here.
Jodi: We love Ted Baker. We got engaged in a Ted Baker store.
Me: WHAT ?
Jodi: When we first met, we would always go shopping together at Ted Baker, because we both loved their clothes. We had been together a couple of years and we were on vacation in San Francisco and we went into the Ted Baker there to shop. We were trying on clothes and Dewey was all finished and he told me he was going to get me one more thing to try on. So, he’s gone for a few minutes and then he comes back to the dressing room and says, “OK, I have something else for you. ” I open the curtain, and he’s down on his knees with a ring and he asks me to marry him right there !
Me: Are you kidding me ?!
Jodi: No, and it was so cool, because after I said yes, the employees went and bought us some beer to celebrate and we just hung out in the store for awhile, drank a few beers and celebrated our engagement ! So yeah, when I say I love Ted Baker, I really do love Ted Baker.
I had to share this story because even though we all had a fabulous time at the event the other night, this was by far the coolest thing that happened. Jodi and Dewey have been together for 8 years now and just to end this little love tale with a final flourishing touch…
They have a darling little girl now. Her name is Juliet.
I didn’t make that up either.
And they all lived happily ever after. The End.
p.s. I’ll have photos from the event up soon, I’m a little verklempt right now…
